This year the event is sponsored by Land Rover and will be the National Selection for U.S. athletes wishing to participate in the Land Rover G4 Challenge global adventure competition.

The global adventure competition will feature men and women from 18 participating nations who will match strategy, stamina, and skill in a demanding 4x4 driving and multi-sport challenge.

Selected Applicants from the U.S. will first compete in the* Land Rover G4 Challenge Nevada Passage*.  Ten coed teams will compete in a variety of adventures including kayaking, trail running, bouldering, mountain biking, orienteering, offroad driving and navigation as they explore the the Silver State of Nevada.  The Nevada event will be televised for air in U.S. markets beginning in August, 2008.  Two men and two women will be chosen from this event to represent the U.S. at Land Rover G4 Challenge International Selections.

From International Selections, the top scoring U.S. competitors of each gender will advance to the final Challenge event and compete together as the U.S. National Team. The National Teams in this final Challenge will engage in activities in urban and remote locations, most likely in Asia. The Grand Prize Winner will be the National Team scoring the highest total points in the final Challenge event.
