Scott FredericksenScott Fredericksen, 32, Greenville, S.C.

Despite participating in a number of triathlons, marathons, half marathons and auto races, Scott Fredericksen will tell you that getting married is the most adventurous thing that he has ever done.  The 32-year-old sales manager for Daimier Trucks in Greenville, S.C. is an avid outdoor athlete and race car driver who relishes the opportunity to test his mind and body.  A graduate of Western Carolina University and the Skip Barber Racing School, the chance to participate in an adventure competition that combines physical challenges with driving skills was an opportunity that Scott couldn’t resist.  His weekly regimen of biking, swimming, running and yoga help him prepare his mind and body for the physical and mental exhaustion that accompanies adventure racing.  When not testing himself against the outdoors, Scott volunteers his time to the Boys and Girls Club of America and has participated in several church mission trips.  

Rachel CieslewiczRachel Cieslewicz, 29, Salt Lake City, Utah

For Rachel Cieslewicz from Salt Lake City, Utah, adventure is more than just physically pushing your body; adventure is made up of soul building challenges. For the 29 year-old single mother, these challenges are not a new concept as she continues to defy the odds. In 2001, Cieslewicz suffered a debilitating head injury and had to relearn how to read and function independently. Despite the set back, Cieslewicz graduated with a bachelor in science in exercise sport science from the University of Utah. Cieslewicz owns her business and guides clients into leading a healthy and active lifestyle. Her own healthy and active lifestyle includes swimming, biking, running and yoga. During the summer months, Cieslewicz competes in one to four triathlons per month along with climbing and bouldering. She loves competition and admits that she enjoys meeting new people and trying anything and everything that sounds like the ultimate adventure. A self proclaimed “happy go-to girl with a can-do attitude and a great smile,” she is looking forward to embarking on her next adventure of participating in the Land Rover G4 Challenge Nevada Passage Competition.
